For those of you who have utilized ENHERTU for treatment can you please share any tips, tricks or info that might be helpful to someone new on the treatment.
Specicially, anything that may help with the digestive upset that happens.
I have been on Enhurtu since Feb. 2023. I am actually on a a combo treatment with chemo and Enhurtu (clinically called TDXD), and now over a year later I would say and my treatment team would say I am handling it very well and doing great. I would say the biggest for me has been the fatigue that hits at any given time and can be overwhelming. Luckily, I work from home, so I can manage a treat to the couch with a cozy blanket and then, after resting, I am generally okay. Its not everyday, and not every cycle. A walk and exercise helps ward it off beforehand, but I am learning as much as I try it is what it is and I need to "rest and repair" in order to move on. The integrative oncologist that I am now working with is suggesting certain supplements that can help with the energy issue, and are safe with Enhurtu. Nausea well, that continues to happen at times and I take Odansetron. I just give in to taking it because it seems for me, the only thing that helps. Lastly, the digestive issues: I previously had to stop immunotherapy due to drug induced Colitis. Now on Enhertu, in the last two months, am having some issues with diarrhea (I've thrown humility out the door)! The most I can do on my end, is through diet, which is a low fiber vs. high fiber diet, and when i had Colitis, I learned to take Metamucil daily and i think that has really helped. Other than that, being very thankful to be on this treatment to target the driver of my cancer. The addition of alternative healing modalities is very much a part of handling this and optimizing health and outcome💕.
